The Tattersall's Finke Desert Race is the greatest desert race in the southern hemishpere. It attracts record entrants and thousands of spectators. The Tattersall’s Finke Desert Race is an off road, multi terrain two-day race through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) Community. The race crosses the Finke River, believed to be the oldest river in the world. The race is held each year on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend means second weekend in June. Visitors need atleast one week to enjoy the racing and other activities here in Alice Springs. They can stay in hotels in Alice Springs which provides them great facilities and amazing services.
