Great and Elegent Republic tower of Genoa- the The Republic tower of Genoa
The Belvedere L. Montaldo is an elegant art nouveau tower some 80 meters above ground and can be found in the Castelletto area. It is said to be the most picture postcard view of Genoa. The Castelletto was demolished in the middle of the 20th Century, leaving the old ruin from which there are views over the rooftops, the bell tower, hanging gardens, the old port and the Lanterna. The easiest way to reach it is via a lift in Piazza Portales, described as the best route to heaven by the poet G. Caproni. There are numbers of cheap hotels in Genoa Italy are available to stay here at very lower room rates, great discounts and with world class facilities.
